A Little About Our Centers For Early Development

At Mothercraft, we are dedicated to providing exceptional child care and early learning experiences that promote healthy development for all families. Our centers for Early Development (CEDs) embody this commitment, offering enriching full day programs for children aged 3 months to 4 years. We currently operate five child care centers, Brookfield Place, Eaton Center, Robertson House, Midtown, and Avondale and are opening three new centers, York Heights, Village Gate, and Norton Lake.

Our CEDs are designed to support busy families while providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can excel.

Robertson House CED- 32 Heath Street West, Toronto, 7:30am to 6:00pm

Eaton Center CED- 14 Trinity Square, Toronto, 7:30am to 5:45pm

Brookfield Place CED, 10 Front Street West, Toronto, 7:30am to 5:45pm

Midtown CED, 44 Lillian Street, Toronto, 7:30am to 6:00pm

York Heights CED, 15 York Garden Way, North York, 7:30am to 6:00pm (Projected to open November/ December 2026)

Village Gate CED, 5143 Dundas Street West, Etobicoke, 7:30am to 6:00pm (Projected to open November/ December 2026)

Norton Lake CED, 1155 Queen Street East, Brampton, 7:30am to 6:00pm (Projected to open November/ December 2026)

Job Summary

As our newest Registered Early Childhood Educator, you will play a crucial role in shaping the development of the young minds in our care. You will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow.

Your passion for early childhood education and ability to connect with children on their level will be instrumental in fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere.

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, you will…

- Report to the Manager of the centre and provide care for the physical and emotional needs of the group and individual children
- Develop and encourage positive and secure relationships with children
- Work as part of a team on managing the day-to-day activities of the room according to the Mothercraft program statement, policies and procedures, and all legislative and regulatory standards
- Be responsible for overall program planning, including: Observation and assessment of children; Preparation and implementation of a culturally sensitive weekly program plan to promotion stimulation in all areas of development; Communicate formally and informally with families, students, other staff, and managers
- Keep the manager informed of activities and/or concerns
- Perform administrative duties including maintenance of children’s records-emergency forms, illness and accident reports, daily attendance and developmental summaries twice a year
- Be responsible for either opening or closing of the centre (safety check, all duties carried out, etc.)
- Demonstrate awareness and understanding of Mothercraft foundational theories, program statement, policies and procedures

Shift rotation is a job requirement. You will be set up for success if you have...

- An Early Childhood Education Diploma, BA Degree in Education is an asset
- 1 to 2 years of work experience with children and families; please note that student placements completed as part of an Early Childhood Education Diploma Program will be considered as one year of work experience
- Registration with the College of ECE
- Standard First Aid & CPR C Certificate
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
- Immunizations and health assessment in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds (lbs.)
- French language skills is an asset
