ABOUT CASA COVE

Casa Cove is a new licensed childcare centre opening in downtown Orillia, designed to be a warm, community-centred early learning environment for toddlers and preschool-aged children. We're founded by people who believe the best early childhood programs are built on genuine relationships — with children, with families, and between educators.

We're launching our licensed Toddler program in Fall 2026, transitioning to Preschool in 2027, and we're looking for the right RECE to be part of it from day one.

THE ROLE

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator at Casa Cove, you'll plan and lead an early learning program that genuinely responds to the children in the room — their interests, their rhythms, their relationships. You'll work closely with the Program Supervisor, engage with families meaningfully, and contribute to a team that takes its work seriously.

This is a full-time position with both Toddler and Preschool responsibilities as the program grows. If you're an educator who stays curious, values relationships, and believes the environment itself can teach — we'd love to meet you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Planning & Delivery

- Plan and implement responsive, emergent curriculum grounded in children's interests, observations, and developmental needs
- Design programming that supports development across all domains — cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and language
- Incorporate principles from How Does Learning Happen? throughout daily routines and intentional experiences
- Create and maintain engaging, safe, and inclusive learning environments
- Use pedagogical documentation — observations, learning stories,



photographs — to make children's learning visible and meaningful

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Ensure active supervision of children at all times, in compliance with required ratios under O. Reg. 137/15
- Conduct daily safety checks and maintain clean, organized environments
- Follow all health, safety, and nutrition policies including anaphylaxis and allergy protocols
- Complete serious occurrence, incident, and medication documentation accurately and promptly
- Support emergency preparedness procedures and participate in regular drills

Family Partnerships

- Build genuine, trusting relationships with families through consistent and warm communication
- Share observations and highlights of children's experiences through daily exchanges and documentation
- Engage families as true partners in their child's learning and development
- Approach sensitive conversations with professionalism, empathy, and appropriate confidentiality

Team Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with ECEAs and the Program Supervisor to maintain program quality and team cohesion
- Participate actively in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Provide guidance and support to ECA colleagues as appropriate
- Contribute to a reflective, improvement-oriented workplace culture





QUALIFICATIONS

- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized Ontario institution
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date immunization records as required by legislation
- Working knowledge of the CCEYA, O. Reg. 137/15, and Ministry of Education licensing requirements
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement emergent, play-based curriculum
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with Toddler or Preschool age groups considered an asset
