About French Elite Montessori

French Elite Montessori (FEM) is proud to be the Niagara region’s first genuine bilingual French-English Montessori school. Located in St. Catharines, FEM provides a warm, nurturing, and high-quality early learning environment where children develop independence, confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

We are currently seeking a caring, skilled, and enthusiastic Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our growing team.

The Role

Working collaboratively with the Head Teacher and school team, the RECE will support the delivery of a high-quality Montessori program for young children.

The successful candidate will combine their knowledge of early childhood education and child development with an appreciation for Montessori principles and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, engaging, and respectful learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Children's Learning and Development

- Plan and support engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences based on children's interests and needs.
- Support the implementation of Montessori principles and practices in the classroom.
- Encourage independence, confidence, concentration, creativity, problem-solving, and positive social relationships.
- Observe and document children's learning and development to support individual and group planning.
- Use positive, respectful, and developmentally appropriate guidance.
- Support children with additional needs and collaborate with the school team, families, and professionals when appropriate.

Health, Safety and Daily Care

- Ensure the health,



safety, well-being, and active supervision of children at all times.
- Follow FEM policies, licensing requirements, and applicable health and safety procedures.
- Assist with daily routines, including arrival and departure, meals, toileting, transitions, outdoor play, rest periods, and classroom organization.
- Follow required procedures for allergies, medication, illness, accidents, emergencies, and child protection.

Family and Team Collaboration

- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality.
- Work closely with the Head Teacher and school team to support a consistent and collaborative classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, professional development, and other school activities.

Documentation and Professional Responsibilities

- Maintain required observations, attendance, daily records, incident reports, learning documentation, and children's portfolios.
- Prepare child progress reports and other documentation according to FEM's reporting schedule.
- Maintain registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.




- Practice in accordance with the College's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and all applicable legislation and regulations.

Qualifications

- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
- Current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Knowledge of child development and Ontario's early years framework.
- Montessori education or experience is an asset, but not required.
- French-English bilingual ability is strongly an asset, but not required.
- A caring, patient, reliable, and collaborative approach to working with children and families.

Specific responsibilities may vary based on the employee's qualifications, classroom assignment, experience, Montessori training, and the operational needs of French Elite Montessori.

Pay: $54,000.00-$54,500.00 per year
