The Wainwright Health
Centre contains a 20 bed acute care medical/surgical unit, 2 bed obstetrical suite, and 24/7 Emergency Department in addition to an OR, day surgery unit and cardiac wellness services. As members of the nursing team, Registered Nurses (RN's) are responsible and accountable for the safe quality care of clients. RNs assess, coordinate and participate in total nursing care for patients and supervise in accordance with CRNA nursing practice standards, as well as provide leadership, direction and encouragement to staff.
Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.
PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications
In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment. This role may require working different shift schedules, including rotating shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
1-year experience in Emergency, Acute Care with Obstetrics within the last (3) years. Certification NRP, CAM A, CAM B, LEAD II, CTAS, ACLS, PALS. Other courses and training applicable to the rural acute and emergency setting an asset. L&D;/postpartum internal education program.
