Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient care by assessing needs, developing care plans, and implementing treatments aligned with best practices in nursing.
- Administer medications accurately and safely, including injections and IV therapies, following established protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions closely, utilizing medical terminology knowledge to document observations and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Assist with specialized care such as dementia management, hospice support, pain management, and case management for complex cases.
- Perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy (blood draws), laboratory specimen collection, and basic laboratory testing when required.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information efficiently and securely.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families about health conditions, medication regimens, and post-discharge care instructions.
Qualifications
- Valid registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the appropriate licensing body.
- Proven experience in nursing home settings, hospital environments, or acute care units.
- Robust background in patient care across various specialties including senior care, pediatrics, home care, assisted living, and hospice care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and clinical procedures such as phlebotomy.
- Experience working with electronic health records systems like Epic or Cerner is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and pain management strategies is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
