What is the opportunity?

This position has responsibility for the administration of the ceded reinsurance business for the RBC Insurance Life Division. Specifically, this includes the operational processing on the ceded reinsurance administration system (TAI) and ensuring that the business is processed within service standards. This includes responsibility for administration of business which is not administered on TAI.

This position will work with the Sr. Manager, Reinsurance Operations to provide business subject matter expertise to the business associated with reinsurance administration.

What will you do?

•Responsible for running weekly TAI interface and month-end, quarter end, annual reporting.

•Responsible for the day-to-day processing on the ceded reinsurance administration system (TAI) and ensuring efficient, effective and timely administration of life reinsurance business ceded out to external reinsurers

•Administer Group and Catastrophe business not on TAI

•Process material financial reinsurance changes, reinsurance calculation, accounting and recoverables of policyholder benefits (Policy Conversions, Unbilled Renewals, Return of Premium, Cash Surrender Values, Waiver of Premium, etc.).

•Responsible for the ongoing documentation and maintenance of operational guidelines and procedures to administer the ceded reinsurance business. This includes procedures/guidelines relating to file maintenance & control e.g. paper cessions/reports, online spreadsheets and file retention

•On-going analysis of data to ensure completeness/accuracy and escalate any issues to the Sr. Manager, Reinsurance Operations

What will you need to succeed?

Must have

•3+ year’s reinsurance/insurance administration experience

•Strong client services skills with a cooperative and supportive attitude

•Strong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently

•Technologically savvy and advanced problem-solving skills (knowledge of MS Access, Excel, TAI Reinsurance System, etc.)

•Ability to quickly capture an understanding of business processes and systems

•Strong communication skills (written & oral)



together with a proven ability to effectively communicate with a broad cross-section of people, at various levels, in the business & technical communities

Nice to have

- LOMA designations – ACS, ARA
- Post secondary education in Business

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable payments) will be determined by factors, including but not limited to candidate's experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions,



and business needs.

Pay Range The expected pay range for this position is:

$55,000.00 - $90,000.00The pay range provided is for the primary work location referenced in the Additional Job Details section of this job posting. Pay ranges may differ based on location.
