North Ridge Development Corporation, Saskatchewan’s leading home builder, is seeking a Residential Draftsperson / Construction Estimator to join our Regina team for a one-year term, with the potential for extension or transition to permanent full-time employment.
This dual role supports our pre-construction process through residential drafting and construction estimating for single-family and multi-family residential projects. Responsibilities include preparing construction drawings, completing material take-offs, and developing cost estimates.
Ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of residential construction in Canada and be driven, highly organized, and self-motivated. While experience and training in both drafting and estimating are preferred, candidates with a strong background in either discipline are encouraged to apply. Candidates must reside in Saskatchewan and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Drafting Duties
- Construction drawings: Prepare complete residential construction drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
- Building standards: Ensure drawings comply with applicable building codes, zoning bylaws, and engineering requirements.
- Building systems: Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems with trade partners.
- Plan revisions: Update drawings for client, site, municipal, and engineering changes.
Estimating Duties
- Project estimates: Prepare detailed cost estimates (including material take-offs) for production and custom homes.
- Trade and supplier quotes: Obtain and evaluate quotes to maintain competitive project costs.
- Value engineering: Identify practical alternatives to reduce costs while maintaining design intent, quality, and performance.
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Three or more years of relevant residential construction, drafting, or estimating experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in residential drafting and/or construction estimating. Drafting candidates should be able to provide examples of relevant construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building practices.

Work Environment
- Primarily computer-based work in our Regina office.
- Periodic construction site visits to verify measurements and site conditions.
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
