Job Summary The Restoration Painter / Drywall Finisher is responsible for completing professional painting, drywall repair, finishing, and texture work on residential and commercial restoration projects. This position works on properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mould, and other damage, restoring affected areas to a clean, finished, and pre-loss condition.

The successful candidate is a skilled, detail-oriented tradesperson who can work independently while maintaining high standards for quality, cleanliness, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling, caulking, and priming.
- Apply interior and exterior coatings using brushes, rollers, and airless/HVLP sprayers.
- Perform stain-blocking and sealing of water, smoke, soot, and other damaged surfaces.
- Match existing paint colours, sheen, and finishes.
- Complete cut-ins, walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets, and other finished surfaces.
- Perform touch-ups and final finishing to achieve a seamless appearance.
- Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, cabinetry, and unaffected areas during work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the project

Customer Service & Professionalism

- Maintain a professional and respectful manner while working in customers' homes and businesses.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, tenants, insurance representatives, and other trades.




- Keep customers informed of work progress when appropriate.
- Protect customer property and maintain a clean, safe jobsite.
- Represent the company positively at all times.

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a professional painter, drywall finisher, or restoration technician.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint application.
- Ability to perform drywall patching, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.
- Ability to accurately match existing wall and ceiling textures.
- Experience with airless and/or HVLP spraying is an asset.
- Knowledge of primers, sealers, stain blockers, and various coating systems.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a restoration team.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites.
- Ability to work in occupied residential and commercial environments.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, climb ladders, and perform physical construction work.
