APX Access & Security is seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to join our growing team. Our primary work includes commercial security, access control, CCTV, alarm systems and structured cabling, along with automatic doors and accessible entrance systems.

Responsibilities

- Install, program, service and troubleshoot commercial security systems
- Install CCTV cameras, NVRs, network equipment and remote-viewing systems
- Install and service access-control panels, card readers, keypads, request-to-exit devices and electric strikes
- Install intrusion alarms, motion detectors, contacts and related devices
- Run, terminate, label and test structured and low-voltage cabling
- Diagnose wiring, networking, power and communication issues
- Install and service automatic door operators
- Install accessible washroom systems, push buttons and wave-to-open sensors
- Integrate automatic doors with access-control and locking systems
- Read drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment manuals
- Complete service reports and maintain clean, professional job sites
- Communicate with customers, contractors and site supervisors

Qualifications
- Previous experience installing and servicing CCTV, access control, alarms or other low-voltage security systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills




- Understanding of IP networking and commercial security equipment
- Ability to run and terminate low-voltage cabling professionally
- Experience with electric strikes, maglocks and door hardware is an asset
- Automatic door experience is an asset, but training may be provided
- Comfortable using ladders, power tools and testing equipment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
