As an integral member of the Finance Team, the Senior Accountant is an experienced, business-minded professional with an entrepreneurial spirit. This is a current vacancy and we are looking for someone to oversee and manage financial reporting of our accounting department reporting to our SVP of Finance.
Position Responsibilities
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Complete bank account reconciliations and monitor cash flow for several companies
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payables for multiple companies.
- Process inter-company transactions and reconciliations
- Maintain HST accounts, filings and interactions with agencies
- Maintains electronic record retention for all documents.
- Completes month end closing process and prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, provincial, and municipal legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor degree or College Diploma in the field of business/management with specialization in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced changing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to learn quickly and self-motivate while working independently and/or collaborating as part of a team.
- Experience with financial software packages including QuickBooks Online.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing to work additional hours during busy periods such as month end/year end, as needed
