Position: Accountant

Location: Woodbridge / North GTA, Ontario

Work Arrangement: Full-time, Onsite – 5 days/week

Compensation: Approximately CAD $70K

About the Opportunity

We are representing an established Canadian manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Accountant to join its finance team.

This is a hands-on accounting position responsible for day-to-day financial operations across multiple business entities, along with supporting and taking ownership of key month-end closing activities.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong full-cycle accounting knowledge, and hands-on exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365 and/or QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day AP, AR, general ledger and banking transactions.
- Perform bank, credit-card and GL reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments and accounting adjustments.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions across multiple entities/subsidiaries.
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll, reconcile payroll accounts and prepare related reports.
- Support and take ownership of month-end and year-end closing activities.




- Review GL accounts and resolve unusual transactions or variances.
- Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation for management reporting.
- Prepare and submit Canadian statutory remittances, including HST, WSIB and EHT.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support broader finance requirements as needed.

Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
- Solid knowledge of AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals and intercompany accounting.
- Hands-on payroll and HST/WSIB/EHT experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/AX2009/D365 F&O; and/or QuickBooks Desktop/Online.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas and data analysis.
- Experience working within a multi-entity setting is highly desirable.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.
- Strong analytical ability, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable working 5 days onsite in the Woodbridge area.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
