About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst serves as a key link between business needs and technology solutions. This role leads business improvement initiatives by translating organizational priorities into effective technology enabled outcomes. The Senior Business Analyst guides solutions from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor and change agent, they facilitate stakeholder collaboration, build consensus on solution design, and support the successful delivery of projects and organizational change.
The successful candidate will combine solid technical knowledge with business acumen to analyze requirements, recommend solutions, and ensure client needs, organizational priorities, and strategic goals are achieved.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Project Management Office, you will:
- Lead and support changes to business processes and technology solutions
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases to support organizational decision-making and service improvements
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and build consensus on solution design and implementation approaches
- Monitor current, new, and emerging technologies and services
- Evaluate industry trends and jurisdictional approaches to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
- Develop detailed technical documentation, including user and system requirements
- Support the implementation of new technologies in an evolving business and technology environment
- Provide guidance to project teams regarding business requirements, processes, and solution design
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and team members
- Build strong working relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Quickly develop an understanding of business processes and adapt to changing organizational needs
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- A post-secondary degree in Computer Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum five years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role, preferably within an integrated IT or healthcare environment.
- Experience leading and delivering complex projects and business process improvement initiatives preferably within an integrated IT environment.
- Knowledge of business needs analysis methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Clear understanding of project management methodologies and practices such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, and Prosci Change Management.
- Experience conducting requirements analysis and solution design activities.
- Experience in solution testing to validate that changes and technical solutions meet the requirements.
- Strong documentation, communication,
facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation and/or a PMP certification is considered an asset.
