Senior Data Engineer

Rate: $55–$64/hr

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support data engineering and cloud modernization initiatives, including migration from Teradata to BigQuery and ongoing data engineering enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain batch and near-real-time data pipelines using cloud-native technologies.
- Build reusable data ingestion, transformation and orchestration frameworks.
- Optimize BigQuery datasets, partitioning, clustering and query performance.
- Develop automated data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Convert SAS/Teradata transformations and business logic to SQL and cloud-native frameworks.
- Support modernization of SAS analytical workloads using BigQuery.




- Validate business outputs between legacy SAS environments and cloud-based implementations.

Key Requirements
- Solid Data Engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery .
- Experience with Teradata and SAS .
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Experience with data migration, transformation and validation/reconciliation.

Additional Details
- French is not required ; interviews can be accommodated in French if preferred.
- Interview process: 1 technical interview , with a potential online assessment if required.
- Primary initiative: Teradata-to-BigQuery migration plus ongoing data engineering enhancements.
- Potential for contract extension.
