GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Peterborough, Ontario! Reporting to the Manager of Handling Systems Development, the Senior Electrical Designer will focus on developing electrical designs and technical documentation for our marine winch and handling systems. They’ll play a key role in creating detailed designs, supporting the build and test of electronic components while ensuring project success.

To learn more about who we are and what it’s like to work at GeoSpectrum, we invite you to watch our company video by visiting Participate in the design, development, and testing of winch and cable handling products and acoustic systems, including supporting the creation of detailed plans and specifications to meet project requirements Create detailed electrical drawings for wire runs, panel layouts,
rack assemblies and circuit designs Draft schematics that accurately represent the electrical components and connections Support the design, build and test of electronic components and sub-assemblies, including: wiring harnesses, electronics enclosures, racks and Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) Maintain and update project files and documentation. Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams t achieve shared project objectives.
Diploma in Engineering Technology or a related field. At least 10 years of experience engineering technology and design. Strong experience with electrical CAD software, including AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
Strong
Experience in generating engineering documentation, wiring schematics and BOMs.
Experience creating electro-mechanical assemblies and electronic racks.
Experience with specifying and commissioning PLC based motor control systems using variable frequency and servo motor drives. Practical design testing experience. Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Passionate about build and test and producing a quality product.
