As a Senior Financial Consultant you will contribute to the overall success of MD Financial Management in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Reporting to the Regional Manager, as a Financial Consultant, you will assist MD clients and their families in achieving their personal financial goals.
Working as a partner with MD’s Specialist Advisors, you will leverage your years of experience and strong client focus to prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies for clients. You will identify and develop new opportunities to prospect and grow the client base, while ensuring retention of clients through strong relationship building and the development of comprehensive financial plans Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Prepare and execute quarterly business plans to aid in the meeting of individual, regional and corporate targets Complete financial planning in the areas of risk management, estate planning, liability management, cashflow/budgeting, education funding, tax, retirement planning, investment management, practice management and goal setting Prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies based on MD Management developed and managed optimal portfolio ranges Conduct financial planning seminars and information meetings throughout the region to inform clients about new strategies,
legislative changes and MD Management's programs Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products, as well as any other issues impacting clients Travel within established travel circuit Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (CIRO-RR) including completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE), Retail Securities Exam (RSE), RR Internal Dealer Training. Life License (LLQP) is an asset. Completion of the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV) - Quebec offices only - is an asset.
Strong computer skills with an above average understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, and portfolio management and financial planning software. Previous lending experience will be considered an asset A demonstrated track record of above average sales in a financial services or related environment 2+ years financial planning experience within the financial services industry Excellent public speaking abilities Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
