About Us
Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Google Cloud Platform Support resource for a 12-month contract opportunity. This role will provide technical, operational, governance, security, and advisory support for an enterprise Google Cloud Platform environment.
The successful candidate will support the ongoing sustainment and modernization of a Google Cloud workplace, including platform governance, security authorization, compliance, connectivity, application onboarding, operational readiness, reporting, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Position Summary The Senior Google Cloud Platform Support resource will support the governance, sustainment, operational enablement, and modernization of an enterprise Google Cloud Platform environment.
The role is focused on architecture, design, advisory, governance, and oversight rather than hands-on cloud administration. The successful candidate will assess platform capabilities, identify operational and security gaps, support compliance and authorization activities, review networking and access models, assist with application onboarding, maintain technical documentation, and provide recommendations to improve cloud adoption, security posture, compliance, and operational readiness.
The resource will work closely with cloud, security, networking, application, and other technical stakeholders to support enterprise cloud requirements and security standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and maintain governance and sustainment information for the existing Google Cloud Platform, including platform status, risks, dependencies, gaps, and priorities.
- Assess Google Cloud capabilities against operational, security, compliance, and application onboarding requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Review and validate cloud architecture records, operating concepts, support procedures, decision records, user guidance, and other technical documentation.
- Support security assessment and authorization activities by preparing, organizing, and validating control evidence, compliance narratives, remediation inputs, and security posture reporting.
- Review cloud security practices, monitoring, audit logging, threat detection, vulnerability visibility, and compliance reporting.
- Track corrective actions, treatment plans, risks, compliance updates, management responses, and authorization dependencies.
- Review Google Cloud networking and connectivity patterns, including segmentation, routing, DNS, hybrid connectivity, shared services, and cloud-to-on-premises access.
- Assess firewall documentation, rule rationalization, validation results, transition records, change coordination materials, and operational procedures.
- Review IAM and PAM practices, including privileged access, least privilege, role governance, access boundaries, just-in-time elevation, and RBAC alignment.
- Validate cloud networking and perimeter protection models, including hub-and-spoke networking, shared VPCs, VPC Service Controls, hierarchical firewall policies, and data exfiltration protection.
- Support application onboarding readiness by reviewing intake processes, prerequisites, onboarding guidance, dependencies, documentation, and readiness criteria.
- Review and improve operational support procedures, change coordination, configuration records, issue tracking, escalation processes, and sustainment activities.
- Coordinate with cloud, security, application, networking, and other stakeholders to support onboarding, sustainment, issue triage, compliance follow-up, and service adoption.
- Produce technical, operational, compliance, and progress reporting, including dashboards, metrics, briefing materials, and status reports.
- Assess emerging Google Cloud capabilities, including AI/ML services, GPU-enabled workloads, containerized services, and other modernization opportunities.
- Develop transition, handover, knowledge transfer, architecture, support, and operational documentation.
- Identify operational pain points, recurring issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the maturity and adoption of the Google Cloud platform.

Required Qualifications
- Secret Government of Canada security clearance.
- 8+ years of experience in IT, cloud computing, infrastructure, application support, architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of Google Cloud architecture, networking, IAM, security, governance, and operational practices.
- Experience with cloud security, compliance, risk management,
and security control documentation.
- Experience supporting security assessment and authorization activities and preparing control evidence or compliance documentation.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, routing, DNS, segmentation, hybrid connectivity, firewalls, and access controls.
- Experience with identity and access management, privileged access management, RBAC, least privilege, and access governance.
- Experience reviewing and maintaining technical architecture, operational, support, and governance documentation.
- Experience working with multiple technical and business stakeholders in a large enterprise or government environment.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Government of Canada cloud environments and familiarity with TBS cloud guardrails, ITSG-33, SSC, or related Government of Canada requirements.
- Experience with Google Cloud security services, audit logging, monitoring, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
- Experience with VPC Service Controls, Shared VPC, hierarchical firewall policies, and cloud perimeter security.
- Experience with PAM solutions and enterprise access governance.
- Experience supporting cloud-based AI/ML, GPU, containerized, or other modernization initiatives.
- Experience with restricted, isolated, air-gapped, or highly secured cloud environments.
- Experience developing dashboards, metrics, governance reporting, and executive briefing materials.
- Experience supporting application onboarding and cloud adoption programs.
- Relevant Google Cloud certifications are considered an asset.

Compensation
Salary Range: $60.00 - $80.00 / hour
