HP-04 - A Correctional Service Specific Duty Allowance: $2140 per year + An Inmate Training Differential could depending on the position, and subject to change: 7% + Shift and weekend premiums may also depending on the position

Duties

Operation, maintenance, repair and renovation of equipment and systems, including high-pressure hot water and steam boilers, heat distribution systems, refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, potable water storage tanks, water distribution networks, fire pumps, heat pumps, standby diesel generators, wastewater stabilization ponds, as well as mechanical systems, components and installations that ensure a healthy environment and appropriate indoor conditions for occupants, managers, staff and inmates at Correctional Service Canada (CSC) institutions.

Work environment The Technical Services of institutions in the Quebec region at the Correctional Service of Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment and his mission is to ensure the operation, compliance and sustainability of the prison complex. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

- Requirement to lift and carry items weighing up to 23 kg utilizing basic secure lifting techniques
- Candidate must maintain valid occupational certification associated with the specific trade

Operational Requirements

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Willingness and ability to travel to various locations
- Willingness to work within correctional facilities
- Willingness to work with and/or instruct inmates where applicable
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, shift-work for a 24/7 institutional establishment
- Willingness to perform duties at any of the locations within the cluster for which this position serves
- Requirement to comply with applicable Occupational Health and Safety codes and regulations

You need (essential for the job)

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :Qualified under the Boiler and Pressure Vessel regulations of the Province of employment for the operation of any boilers in the employer's workplace that this position may be responsible for operating as a shift engineer. Minimum Power Engineer Certification requirement is fourth ( 4th) class, with a third (3rd) class or better required at some sites.

EXPERIENCE:Experience operating a high-pressure steam or hot water plant, or an energy distribution facility within a manufacturing, industrial, or institutional environment.
