Brief The Shunt Truck Driver is responsible for performing safe and efficient moves of containers or chassis between different locations at the plant and warehouse to contribute to optimal operations.
Responsibilities
- Drive a shunt truck to move chassis or chassis with containers, transferring freight between onsite locations to contribute to the smooth operation.
- Safely move products between offsite locations, provide consistent on-time pickup and delivery service.
- Back trailers into designated areas as requested.
- Perform pre-trip inspection and daily checks to make sure trailers, shunt truck and other pieces of equipment are fit for use.
- Ensuring proper handling and disposal of waste.
- When required, providing assistance with loading product; including,
but not limited to operating a scan gun, wrapping pallets, and loading containers.
- Daily reviews of inventory and replenish supplies as needed.
- Complete related documents accurately as required.
- Perform other general tasks contributing to the smooth operation of the facility as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1A Driver's License and 2 years experience with cleaning driving abstract.
- Equipment Operator experience/certification (Forklift, Reach, Scissor Lift)
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Must be reliable, hardworking, responsible, energetic and dependable.
- Daily exposure to typical manufacturing areas will be required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, high visibility vest and hearing protection where required.
- Shift: Monday to Friday 11:00am-7:30pm
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $21.34 per hour
