Snow Removal Solo Worker / Driver — Winter 2026/2027
RES (Reliable Every Storm) Snow Blowing is hiring reliable, hardworking and committed Snow Removal Workers / Drivers for the 2026/2027 winter season.

We are a residential-only snow blowing team with over 30 team members and 500 clients. We are growing rapidly and are looking for positive people who are reliable, friendly and committed to high-quality workmanship.

THE POSITION
Job Title: Snow Removal Worker / Driver Employment Type: Seasonal, fixed-term winter position Contract Term: November 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027
This is a hands-on snow removal position primarily servicing residential properties.
You will be responsible for completing an assigned route of residential properties using a company-provided SUV and snow removal equipment.
COMPENSATION
- $18/hour, less applicable payroll deductions
- $6 per completed house performance pay, subject to the requirements below
- $6,000 guaranteed pay for the season, less normal payroll deductions, subject to the terms of the employment agreement
- Guaranteed pay is not additional pay on top of hours worked; it provides a minimum level of compensation according to the agreement
- Performance pay requires proper completion and documentation of the property
- Performance pay may not be paid for a property where there is a client complaint or required completion photos are missing
- Paid bi-weekly on Fridays via e-transfer, according to the contract’s pay schedule
WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES You will be responsible for:
- Snow blowing residential driveways
- Clearing around vehicles
- Clearing single walkways and stairs to entrances
- Clearing in front of garage doors
- Shovelling as required
- Completing your assigned route within the required service window
- Taking GPS/time/date/address-stamped photos of completed work
- Recording completed properties and hours worked using our required apps
- Following property-specific notes and instructions
- Communicating with clients when required
- Helping other crews when necessary
- Performing vehicle and equipment checks
- Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained
- Completing service requests, complaints, salting and other snow-related duties when required
Our standard service trigger is 1 cm (0.4 inches) of snow, although some clients have different service requirements. THIS IS A HIGH-COMMITMENT WINTER POSITION
This is not a typical 9–5 job.
Snow doesn’t follow a schedule, and neither do our shifts.
Employees must be available 24/7 throughout the winter season, including:
- Nights
- Weekends
- Holidays
- Short-notice or no-notice snowfalls
- Freezing rain and freezing events
- Service requests and client complaints
- Equipment/vehicle preparation
- Additional shifts when required
The contract requires availability from November 1 through April 30, including weekends and holidays.
EXPECTED HOURS
Snowfalls can vary significantly.
- 13 hours minimum may be required for a snowfall
- Many snowfalls require a second half or full shift
- A snowfall may require approximately 20–26 hours
- Major storms may require 39+ hours over multiple shifts
- Approximately 90% of shifts are expected to be at night
The contract states that approximately 15 snowfalls averaging 18 hours per snowfall should be expected, although actual snowfall frequency and hours will vary.
RELIABILITY IS CRITICAL
We are looking for people who understand that missing a snowfall is not an option.
Our clients depend on us to provide service within their promised response times. Being late, leaving early or failing to show up can create safety issues for our clients and negatively impact the entire team.
You must
- Show up on time — every time
- Be prepared to work when called
- Complete your entire assigned route
- Return for additional shifts when required
- Follow all property notes and procedures
- Complete work to our quality standards
- Properly document every property
- Communicate with management when required
- Be willing to help other teams when necessary
The employment agreement states that being late, leaving early or not showing up for a snow removal shift can result in termination. TECHNOLOGY & DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS
You must have
- A working smartphone with a clear camera
- Mobile data
- A portable phone charger
- An app capable of stamping photos with time, date and address
- The required Jobber app
- The required clock-in/clock-out app
- Ability to take and upload completed-work photos
- Ability to accurately record completed houses and hours
All completed work must be properly documented. COMPANY VEHICLE & EQUIPMENT A company SUV and snow removal equipment may be provided for the position.
Employees are responsible for
- Properly storing the vehicle and equipment
- Keeping equipment secure
- Following all vehicle/equipment policies
- Keeping the vehicle clean
- Reporting issues to management
- Returning company property immediately when required
The vehicle and equipment are for company work only and cannot be used for personal purposes. ROUTES & WORKLOAD
Routes are designed around residential properties.
A typical route can include up to approximately 20 properties, with route size adjusted for larger properties or properties requiring salt.
Large storms may require multiple visits to properties, and employees may be required to return for a second shift even after completing their own route if another team needs assistance.

IMPORTANT BEFORE APPLYING Please understand that this position requires a very high level of winter availability and commitment.
Snowstorms can happen overnight, on weekends, on holidays and with little or no advance notice. Employees must be prepared to work long shifts and potentially multiple shifts during major storms.
