About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team and support children and families in developing their communication skills.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with pediatric and neurodiverse clients, building meaningful relationships with families, and providing engaging, individualized therapy. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ communication, confidence, participation, and independence while working collaboratively under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

- Provide individualized speech and language therapy in clients’ homes and schools
- Deliver direct therapy under the supervision and direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Implement individualized treatment plans and evidence-based therapeutic strategies
- Monitor and document client progress and communicate observations to the supervising SLP
- Build positive, trusting relationships with clients and their families
- Provide families with ongoing feedback, education, and practical strategies to support communication at home
- Develop and/or implement home programming as directed by the supervising SLP
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation and records
- Collaborate with families, educators, SLPs, and other members of the client’s support team as appropriate




- Participate in ongoing learning and career development

Qualifications & Requirements

- Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) certification or relevant SLPA experience
- Experience working with children is an asset
- Experience working with neurodiverse clients and/or AAC is an asset
- Strong understanding of evidence-based speech and language intervention practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while following the direction and supervision of an SLP
- Professional liability insurance
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable access to transportation
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check / Police Check
