THE ROLE

We have an urgent contract opening for a Sr Plex Finance, Costing & Manufacturing Consultant

Position Summary

Plex Finance and Costing Consultant to lead a strategic assessment and optimization engagement for a metal stamping manufacturer.

The consultant will perform a deep dive into Plex financial operations, inventory accounting, purchasing transactions, costing, PPV, SCAR, month-end closing, and financial reporting while identifying root causes behind earnings volatility and recommending best-practice solutions.

This role requires a consultant who combines strong Plex expertise with hands-on manufacturing accounting experience and the ability to explain complex Plex transaction flows to finance, accounting, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Assessment & Discovery

- Review Plex finance and costing configurations
- Analyze current month-end procedures
- Document end-to-end transaction flows
- Review custom reporting landscape




- Evaluate reporting and analytics processes

Manufacturing Accounting

- Assess inventory valuation methodologies
- Review standard costing practices
- Analyze production cost allocation
- Evaluate gross margin reporting
- Review COGS calculations

Variance Analysis

- Analyze PPV configuration and transactions
- Investigate significant monthly variances
- Evaluate SCAR accounting impacts
- Review supplier pricing and blanket order effects
- Validate inventory adjustment practices

Process Improvement

- Develop reconciliation framework
- Design close process improvements
- Recommend control enhancements
- Create best-practice operating procedures
- Reduce manual reporting dependencies

Knowledge Transfer

- Train finance and accounting teams
- Explain Plex transaction flows
- Document future-state procedures
- Establish governance processes
