Structural Steel/Misc. Metal Shop Welder :

Our company is looking for a Structural Steel/Misc. Metal Shop Welder to join our team. The candidate will also assess welds to ensure they are clean, free of error and in accordance with relevant welding codes. The major qualities needed to succeed on this job include technical, measurement, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

- Compute dimensions, plan layout and determine method and sequence of operations during the manufacturing process.
- Operate manual or semi automatic flame cutting equipment.
- Safely operate overhead cranes
- Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits together fabricated parts of structural metal products according to blueprint and layout specifications
- ability to weld structural steel products such as beams, braces, posts, and plates
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
- Must understand welding symbols




- Ability to work independently or with light supervision
- Robust mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Manual Dexterity and hand-eye co-ordination
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and handle heavy loads (up to 50lbs)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
- Be responsible for achieving the desired quality level
- Solid grasp of spoken English

Pay will be based on experience Benefits: after 3 months’ probation

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 4:30pm

Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm (44hrs/wk.)

Pay: $25.00-$34.00 per hour
