Civil Superintendent – Heavy Civil Infrastructure

Location: Vancouver Island, BC – Multiple Locations

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 + Full Benefits + RRSP Matching

Position Summary:

We're partnering with an established civil construction contractor to recruit an experienced Civil Superintendent to support heavy civil projects across Vancouver Island.

This is an chance to lead field operations on a range of challenging heavy civil projects, working closely with project management and field teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead day-to-day field operations across heavy civil projects
- Schedule and coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and site activities
- Work closely with Project Managers to maintain project schedules and productivity targets
- Mentor Foremen and junior field staff
- Develop and maintain a strong safety culture across project sites
- Monitor project progress, costs, resources, and upcoming work
- Identify site challenges and develop practical solutions to maintain schedules
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support preconstruction planning, site reviews, and project execution strategies
- Recognize scope changes and assist with change management




- Ensure quality standards and project specifications are consistently maintained

Qualifications & Experience:

- 6+ years of construction leadership experience within heavy civil construction
- Proven experience successfully delivering complex heavy civil projects
- Experience managing crews, subcontractors, equipment, and multiple site activities
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project schedules, productivity, and job costing
- Comfortable working in fast-paced and technically challenging project environments
- Technical diploma or degree in engineering or construction is considered an asset
- Previous experience delivering civil projects in British Columbia is preferred
