Role Description The Survey Party Chief is a full-time, in office role based in Parry Sound, ON. This role is responsible for leading field crews in conducting a variety of land and construction surveys, ensuring that measurements and data collection are accurate, complete, and compliant with project specifications. Day-to-day tasks include organizing fieldwork, operating surveying equipment, verifying calculations, preparing field notes, and communicating with project managers and office staff.

Chief also oversees site safety, coordinates logistics for field operations, and provides guidance and training to junior team members.
The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Land Surveying and Topographic Surveys, with the ability to plan and execute diverse field projects.
- Experience with Building Surveying and ALTA Surveys, including detailed measurement, boundary determination, and documentation.
- Proficiency in operating Total Station equipment and related surveying instruments, with strong attention to accuracy and calibration.
- Knowledge of survey calculations, coordinate systems, and relevant standards or regulations.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with prior experience supervising or coordinating field crews.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying site and weather conditions, and to adhere to health and safety practices.
- Competence in using survey software and basic computer applications for data processing and reporting.
- Diploma or degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to project sites.
Wages
- $30-$35 hourly
