Job Overview
We are a busy and popular Learn-To-Swim program for children aged 5-11 in Cochrane. In this energetic role, you will deliver engaging training programs, teach essential swimming techniques, and foster a positive, motivating environment that encourages confidence and progress. Your passion for teaching and swimming will help develop safe, skilled, and enthusiastic swimmers while promoting a love for the water.

This role is perfect for university and high school students looking for a part-time role while focusing on academics. This role is an excellent addition to any resume or university application. Many of our coaches have gone on to find excellent opportunities in employment while at university across all provinces.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive swim lessons tailored to various skill levels at the fundamentals level.
- Teach proper swimming techniques, safety protocols, and stroke development with clarity and enthusiasm
- Monitor swimmers’ progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust training plans accordingly
- Ensure all participants adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a secure aquatic workplace at all times
- Lead warm-up exercises, drills, and cool-down routines to optimize performance and prevent injuries
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and safety incidents
- Foster a positive atmosphere that motivates swimmers to improve their skills and enjoy their time in the water
Skills
- Experience in teaching swimming or swim coaching, or a background as an athlete in competitive swimming is preferred.
- Knowledge of swimming techniques, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct diverse age groups and skill levels
- Ability to motivate and inspire confidence in swimmers through energetic coaching methods
- Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging lesson plans that promote learning and enjoyment
- Reliable, responsible, with a keen eye for safety and detail in aquatic environments
Education We pride ourselves in being a learning program not only for our swimmers, but for our coaches as well. Mini Comets will pay for certifications in the National Coach Certification Program as we mentor and support young coaches while employed with us. This role is not limited to young people, we welcome anyone who loves children and loves to learn themselves.

Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 – 10.0 per week
