Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems, Verification & Validation Specialist, to join our growing engineering team in Ottawa to actively contribute to the ongoing design and product development of our core products within the Electronics Warfare domain. As a member of the engineering team, you will integrate into our growing agile scrum team.
In this role you will provide support to the project team throughout the project life cycle, execute the project’s systems engineering efforts within the allotted timeframe and create and maintain the project’s systems documentation and deliverables.
You will be supporting the project life cycle events including gate reviews, integration, and test events. The successful candidate will possess a blend of systems engineering, verification and validation,
and modeling & simulation knowledge to better understand the customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify and validate system designs and implementation to ensure conformance with functional and performance specifications and customer requirements
- Develop and maintain manual and/or automated test cases for our software products
- Develop, maintain and execute test procedures for test engineering activities
- Develop test reports for test engineering activities
- Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards,
including system and software requirements
- Support the development and allocation of system level requirements
- Support the project team addressing requirements, design, integration, and test issues
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 6 years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the conduct of testing, use of automated test tools and structured testing techniques for software products
- Experience in project execution processes from requirements through commissioning and support
- Experience working within systems engineering processes governing change and configuration management
- Excellent verbal and written communications and customer interaction skills
Desirable Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience testing Electron applications or web applications
- Experience with Playwright or Selenium for test automation
- Experience with JavaScript development
- Experience with Python development
- Familiarity with RF, Radar, EO/IR, and Electronic Countermeasure (ECM) operating principles and concepts
- Experience in validating simulation models
- Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MSBE) practices and tools
- Experience with Requirements Management tools
- Comfortable presenting and demonstrating to stakeholders (including customers and senior management)
- Experience with supporting the development of bid and proposal material to support the technical solution.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree of Engineering in a related field.
Security Clearance Given the nature of our software development work, it is a condition of employment that the successful candidate receive the required security clearances. Successful candidates must be eligible for Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) . In addition, candidates must be able to obtain a Canadian Industrial Security Clearance to NATO SECRET level.

In general, in order to obtain these clearances, you
- Must be either a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada;
- Must have lived in Canada continuously for the past 10 years;
