Role Overview The Team Lead, Branch provides day-to-day operational leadership and support to branch staff to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery. Working closely with the Branch Manager, the Team Lead supports staff coaching and development, monitors performance, conducts file audits, provides operational coverage, and helps maintain compliance with organizational and funder requirements. The role also builds community partnerships and collaborates with internal teams to support positive client outcomes and branch targets.

Key Job Functions

- Provides day-to-day operational leadership to branch staff, ensuring service delivery and documentation align with organizational procedures, funder requirements,



and performance expectations.
- Acts as backup for branch roles, including the Branch Manager, Employment Counsellor, and Intake Coordinator, to maintain operational and client service continuity.
- Supports staff onboarding, training, coaching, and development in alignment with organizational procedures and Learning and Development guidance.
- Reviews variance and performance reports, investigates concerns, and provides timely coaching to address identified gaps.
- Conducts regular file reviews and audits to ensure documentation accuracy, compliance, and service quality.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community partners, social service agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.
- Represents VPI at community events to promote programs, strengthen partnerships and referrals, while identifying local labour market and partnership opportunities for the Branch.
- Collaborates with Employer Services, Community Partnerships, and other internal teams to support coordinated service delivery and meaningful employment outcomes.
- Supports the Branch Manager in monitoring branch performance and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, staff effectiveness, client outcomes, and target achievement.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.

Skills & Abilities

- Demonstrated leadership experience, including supporting, coaching, and guiding staff while providing operational coverage as required.
- Strong understanding of employment service delivery,



client service processes, and branch operations.
- Proven ability to review performance data, identify gaps, and support achievement of program, operational, and funder targets.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including file auditing, documentation review, record accuracy, and compliance monitoring.
- Ability to build robust stakeholder relationships while maintaining awareness of local labour market trends, community needs, and partnership opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Strong coaching and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support staff development.
- Sound judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively across departments and service areas.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, accountability, resilience, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with workplace technology and the ability to adapt to evolving systems, processes, and operational requirements.
