New Creations Regina is looking for a motivated Surface Repair Technician to join our team.

This is not a typical repair position.

New Creations technicians specialize in repairing damage to a wide variety of surfaces that many people assume need to be replaced. Our work can include flooring, furniture, countertops, cabinetry, automotive interiors, leather, vinyl, fabric, tile, stone, and many other surfaces.

What You’ll Do

As a Surface Repair Technician, you will travel to customer locations throughout the local service area to assess damage and complete professional surface repairs using New Creations techniques, products, tools, and processes.

Your responsibilities may include

- Assessing damaged surfaces and determining the appropriate repair approach.
- Repairing and refinishing a wide variety of surfaces and materials.
- Performing colour matching, texture matching, filling, finishing, and other specialized repair techniques.
- Using specialized tools, equipment, coatings, fillers, and repair products.
- Preparing and protecting work areas before completing repairs.
- Completing repairs efficiently while maintaining New Creations quality standards.
- Communicating professionally with customers before, during, and after repairs.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, materials, and company property.
- Documenting completed work, including photographs and job information.
- Managing your daily schedule and travelling between customer locations.
- Continuing to develop your technical abilities through training, coaching, and hands-on experience.

Experience Previous surface repair experience is not required for the right candidate .

New Creations provides specialized training, and many of the skills used in our repair process are learned through hands-on experience.

Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset:

- Furniture repair or refinishing
- Autobody repair
- Automotive detailing
- Automotive interior repair
- Upholstery
- Cabinetry or woodworking
- Painting or finishing
- Flooring
- Countertop repair or fabrication
- Construction finishing
- Fiberglass repair
- Leather or vinyl repair
- Colour matching
- Fine-detail trades
- Artistic or hands-on craftsmanship

Candidates with strong mechanical, technical, artistic, or practical problem-solving abilities may also be well suited to this role.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid driver's licence appropriate to the local jurisdiction.
- Acceptable driving record where required.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the local service area.
- Comfortable using hand tools and specialized equipment.
- Ability to work independently once trained.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to distinguish and match colours.
- Willingness to complete required safety and technical training.

Training and Development Recent Creations specializes in repair techniques that are not commonly taught in traditional trades, so training is an important part of the position.

Candidate Assessment

Because technical aptitude, colour perception, judgment, and reliability are important to the position, shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete assessments such as:
