Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market. The Toolmaker/Dimensional/Finisher is responsible for Finishing tools, fixtures and associated equipment used primarily within robotic/automated assembly lines for the automotive industry. The Toolmaker/Dimensional/Finisher is also responsible for final line integration, and adjusting tooling to ensure correct part fit up.
Experience in interpreting CMM reports in relation to tooling geometry is considered a necessary asset, in order to perform the necessary studies. Minimum 5 years’ experience in automotive assembly / tooling or assembly systems. Operating knowledge of all equipment, and machines in mechanical department.
Strong understanding of welding, hemming and gluing processes. MS Office and ppt computer skills preferred. Must have the ability to travel nationally and internationally, with up to date travel documents (Passport).
Troubleshoot, repair, and test existing tools and fixtures as required. Confirm stamping/assembly parts in regards to dimensional accuracy and consistency in the manufacturing process. Analyze root causes of problems through evaluation of measurement data and "hands on" panel/fixture fit techniques.
Follow up on quality issues. Provide continuous guidance, and training to Tool & Die Apprentices as assigned Communicate necessary information to Program Manager/Assistant Supervisor and co-workers from shift to shift Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner,
