Proven experience designing UX interfaces for web applications Strong hands-on experience translating designs into HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe XD or similar wireframing/prototyping tools Experience supporting content updates and ongoing upkeep of web applications Strong understanding of responsive and accessible web design principles About the Role The UX Designer (Intermediate) will design and build user‑centered interfaces for web applications under the ONE Access Program. This role blends UX design and front‑end development, taking concepts from wireframes and prototypes through to implemented interfaces using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript. The UX Designer will support the ongoing design, enhancement, and upkeep of applications and web content, working closely with product, development, and business teams to deliver accessible, responsive, and standards‑aligned user experiences.
Responsibilities Design intuitive, user‑centered interfaces for web‑based applications
Translate UX concepts, wireframes, and prototypes into functioning front‑end code using HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript
Create and refine UX artefacts including wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
Support content updates and page maintenance using WordPress or similar CMS platforms
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders throughout the design lifecycle
Ensure designs adhere to accessibility, usability, and web standards
Conduct design iterations based on feedback, usability insights, and technical constraints
Participate in Agile or waterfall delivery processes as part of application teams Qualifications Education details Required Skills UX design experience using Adobe XD or similar wireframing tools
Strong front‑end development skills in HTML, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript
Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
Experience maintaining and updating web application content and layouts

Strong communication skills to explain design decisions and technical constraints Preferred Skills Experience designing interfaces for public‑facing or enterprise web applications
Experience working in health, health‑IT, or regulated environments
Familiarity with design systems and reusable component libraries
Experience collaborating closely with development teams in Agile environments
Understanding of cross‑browser compatibility and performance considerations
Experience applying WCAG or accessibility best practices

Agency systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Agency assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario, without prior written approval from the Agency. The resource will ensure full knowledge transfer is provided to the Agency team before end of engagement.
Some of this might occur at the end of the engagement but will also be shared as information is obtained/consolidated. Key deliverables will be shared with team. The resource must provide all related documentation as part of knowledge transfer protocol.
Documents will be reviewed by the appropriate leads and signed off by manager/director. The resource will work collaboratively with the Agency team throughout the assignment and ensure key deliverables, milestones, and documentation are shared. A walkthrough of any demos, development, etc. will be required before the end of the engagement.
