Clinic and Caseload Overview

- Gold-Standard Medicine: Dedicated to compassionate care for cats and dogs, including preventative medicine, surgery, and advanced dentistry.

Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Care:



Gather animal health histories, and take vital signs.
- Diagnostics: Collect blood, urine, or tissue samples and run laboratory tests or X-rays.
- Surgical Support: Prep instruments, sterilize operating rooms, administer and monitor anesthesia, and assist during procedures under the guidance of the DVM.
- Treatments: Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision and guidance of the DVM, and specialized wound or bandage care as directed.
- Client Communication: Educate pet owners on home care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions.

Skills and Qualifications

- Education: Graduate of an accredited Animal Health Technician / Veterinary Technician program, and in good standing with the provincial regulatory association (if applicable).

- Credentialing: Passing national or regional board exams, such as the VTNE, and registering with local professional associations (like an RVT) is a bonus but is not required.

- Experience Level: Open to both experienced technicians and enthusiastic new graduates!

- Soft Skills: Compassion and patience with stressed animals, strong verbal communication, ability to adapt to challenges, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for teamwork.

- Physical Stamina:



Ability to stand for extended periods of time, able to life 25 kg.

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
