Pinchin is seeking a Water Resources Professional to join our Environmental Due Diligence & Remediation team in Sudbury, ON. The new role reports to the Director of Northern Ontario.

Role Overview

This position is intended for a professional engineer or geoscientist with Ontario‑based design and permitting experience, who is operating at an advanced intermediate level and transitioning into senior responsibility. The successful candidate will be expected to take technical ownership of water resources assignments while working within Pinchin’s structured project execution and peer‑review framework. You will play a key role in planning, designing, modelling, and reviewing water resource based projects, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and advising clients with confidence and credibility.

Your Impact In this role, you will be relied upon for both technical depth and practical problem‑solving:

- Mine Water Management
- Qualitative and Quantitative Water Assessments
- Compliance Monitoring and Reporting
- Preparation of Technical Supporting Documents for Permitting

- Undertake and support water resources projects for commercial, industrial, municipal and provincial clients




- Support a variety of different scaled projects ranging from watershed and sub-watershed studies to Site specific characterization assignments
- Prepare technical reports, calculations and drawings suitable for submission to municipalities, conservation authorities and provincial agencies
- Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff and participate in internal peer review
- Contribute technical input to proposals and project planning, as required

What You’ll Bring To Pinchin The ideal candidate is technically independent, values collaboration and structured peer review, has hands‑on experience with Ontario regulatory approval processes, and communicates effectively with clients, regulators and project teams.

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Water Resources focus) or Hydrogeology
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with PEO or Qualified Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation with PGO
- 8+ years of Ontario‑based experience in any combination of water resources assessment, characterization and design (mining, commercial, industrial and public infrastructure projects)
- Strong hydrotechnical experience, including mine water management, aquifer instrumentation and assessment and watercourse evaluations
- Experience supporting mining/commercial/industrial developments, processes and permitting and municipal infrastructure
- Practical knowledge of water resource management, risk assessment, erosion control, water quality, permitting and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with modelling tools (AquaSolv, AquiferTest Pro, VMODFLOW, FEFLOW, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of Ontario municipal standards, conservation authority requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks
