This role is responsible for organizing, facilitating, and personally completing product installations and service work efficiently, in a professional manner, and with attention to the finest detail. It requires an individual who is adaptable and can find solutions to challenging situations, and who only accepts perfection in their work. This person will have hands-on experience working with glass, metal, and wood products, and will have a history of working for the most discerning clientele.
Key Elements of the Role:
- Work with sales staff to estimate project installation timelines and requirements during the sales process.
- Organize and complete window and door installation and service projects from start to finish
- Commitment to becoming a Kolbe product line expert.
- Document and communicate any product or install deficiencies with office staff in a clear and punctual manner using established processes.
- Provide daily progress reports of job completion.
- Communicate with customers regarding arrival time on site, ongoing project updates, final walk-throughs, and other communication required on site.
- Receive, load, deliver, install, and service product in a manner preventing any damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace both on and off the jobsite.
- Maintain inventory of necessary tools and supplies & update inventory database periodically as requested.
- Complete finish-quality woodwork and metal work.
Basic Key Competencies, Experience, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years of experience installing windows and doors in residential buildings.
- Skilled with all hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of construction safety best-practices, and a clean safety record.
- Knowledge of relevant window and door installation standards such as ASTM-E2112.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
- Ability to measure, cut, and install interior and exterior trim of various types such as composites, wood, and aluminum.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Experience mobilizing a demobilizing construction sites.
- Experience loading and off-loading products and materials from trucks.
- Must maintain a valid drivers' license.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
Experience and Skills Considered to be Assets:
- Ability to use a metal brake.
- Experience performing material take-offs.
- Experience operating construction machinery.
Work Conditions:
- Interior and exterior work throughout the calendar year.
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 100 lbs. and moving heavier objects with additional personnel.
- Frequent travel around the Calgary area.
- Occasional overnight travel to remote job locations throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
- Regular operation and use of power tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Use of required personal protective equipment
Resources Provided:
- Power tools and specialty install tools & equipment will be provided to carry out project installations & service; Employee is responsible for supplying, maintaining, and replacing their own hand tools.
- Use of company vehicle during work hours.
Schedule:
- 8 working hours per day – times will vary depending on project requirements.
- Potential for overnight stays in remote locations – per-diems provided for overnight stays.
- Potential for overtime and weekend work.
- Potential for seasonal lay offs.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage for this position is $30.00 to $45.00/hour, commensurate with experience, paid bi-weekly.
- Per Diems provided for work from home that requires overnight stays.
