Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to join the expanding McIlvenna Bay team. This full‑time, remote position at the McIlvenna Bay site in Northern Saskatchewan offers either a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will execute mechanical maintenance activities, ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment, and maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
We operate a full fleet of Sandvik battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and are committed to sustainable development and environmental protection.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and implement timely repairs.
- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Optimize maintenance processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and in compliance with industry regulations.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and equipment malfunctions, developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to improve mechanical maintenance processes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
Job Qualifications and Skills
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman or Red Seal certification.
- Automotive Mechanic Journeyman may be considered.
- 2+ years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a mining or heavy‑industry setting preferred.
- In‑depth knowledge of mining equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and their implications for maintenance activities at mine sites.
Compensation and Advantages
