Overview

The Scale Shack Operator is responsible for weighing inbound and outbound trucks, issuing accurate load tickets, recording material movement, and supporting safe, effective site operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work professionally with drivers and site personnel. Duties

· Generate, verify, and issue load tickets, scale slips, and related documentation for drivers and customers.

· Record customer information, truck numbers, material type, weights, times, and load counts accurately in the scale system or log sheets.

· Direct truck traffic safely through the scale area and communicate clear instructions to drivers.

· Monitor trucks for overweight loads or discrepancies and report concerns to supervisors promptly.

· Keep the scale shack clean, organized, and stocked with required supplies.

· Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and site-specific procedures.

· Report equipment issues, scale malfunctions, safety hazards, incidents, or unusual activity immediately.

Qualifications

· Previous experience in a scale shack, aggregate pit, quarry, construction, trucking, dispatch is an asset.





· Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering weights, tickets, customer names, and material information.

· Good verbal communication skills and a professional, courteous approach with drivers and coworkers.

· Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy and organization.

· Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

· Reliable, punctual, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Knowledge of aggregate materials, trucking, equipment, or construction terminology is considered an asset.

· Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Pay: $17.58-$20.00 per hour
