Job title: Carpenter — Residential Construction (Flexible)

Job Summary

Solidity is hiring carpenters for general residential work in the Fort McMurray and surrounding area.

This is not industrial site work. Standard site tickets and site access rules do not apply.

Work includes decks, railings, roof framing, house framing, fencing, and similar residential carpentry. Interior finishing skills is an asset, not required.

Hours are versatile. This can fit people who work can hitch work and have a week or two open between shifts.

We need strong English, a strong work ethic, and proven residential construction skill.

Registered Alberta carpenter apprentices in Period 2 or higher (2nd year and over) may apply. We can sponsor you and sign your hours in your record book under a Red Seal carpenter mentor, as allowed under Alberta apprenticeship rules.

Responsibilities

Frame houses, roofs, decks, railings, fences, and other residential structures.

Read and follow drawings, layouts, and instructions.

Use hand tools and power tools safely and with care.

Work clean, square, and to a high standard.

Show up ready, communicate in English, and finish the work assigned.

Work with the crew to get jobs done on time.





Interior finishing (trim and doors) if you have that skill.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of residential construction carpentry.

Or a registered Alberta carpenter apprentice in Period 2, 3, or 4 (2nd year and over).

Strong spoken and written English.

Strong work ethic. Reliable. Able to work with little supervision.

Able to do general residential carpentry: decks, railings, roof framing, house framing, fencing.

Comfortable with hand tools and power tools.

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation preferred.

Alberta Journeyperson Carpenter certificate or Red Seal would be an asset but not required.

What this job is not

Not a single industrial site job.

No heavy equipment operation.

No concrete forming as a core duty.

No welding requirement.

Industrial site tickets are not required.
