About the Role

Natra Chocolate America is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Maintenance Technician – Utilities & Facilities to oversee the operation, reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical plant utility systems. This position serves as the primary owner of facility utilities, ensuring safe, compliant, and effective operation while coordinating specialized maintenance activities with external contractors and service providers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production operations through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives related to utility systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Assume ownership of all plant utility and facility systems.
- Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain:
- Steam boilers and hot water generation systems
- Air compressor systems
- Glycol and chilled water systems
- HVAC systems supporting production and facility operations
- Utility distribution systems and related equipment
- Coordinate and supervise work performed by external contractors and service providers.
- Execute and support preventive and predictive maintenance programs.




- Monitor utility performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve utility-related issues that impact production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
- Support facility safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge and documentation for critical utility assets.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, GMPs, HACCP requirements, food safety standards, and applicable provincial regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

- Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with:
- Boilers and steam/hot water systems
- Compressed air systems
- Glycol or chilled water systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience coordinating contractors and external service providers.
- Minimum 4th Class Operating Engineer Certificate (Ontario) or an equivalent qualification recognized within Ontario.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience with HVAC systems and facility utility infrastructure.
- Refrigeration and glycol system experience.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and CMMS software.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to boilers, pressure vessels, utilities, and facility operations.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (variable)
