Senior Planner/Scheduler

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Job Overview:

- As a senior member of the Construction Project Management team, the Senior Project Scheduler is responsible for supporting increasingly complex project requirements, working independently, and coordinating with project management teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
- The primary focus of this role is to develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules for one or more projects within the department. This includes collaborating with project stakeholders throughout the planning, procurement, development, construction, and maintenance phases to ensure accurate scheduling, effective resource planning, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules for planning, procurement, development, construction, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise scheduling standards and methodologies, including the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and other scheduling requirements.
- Update, revise, and expand project schedules as projects progress through development and execution phases, incorporating earned value data and other construction tracking and reporting information.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify trends and risks, and communicate schedule impacts, concerns, and recommendations to Project Managers and project teams.
- Evaluate the impact of schedule updates against baseline plans and ensure resource requirements are accurately incorporated throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, track, and report on schedule performance indicators and project metrics.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance related to scheduling, planning, and logistics functions.
- Develop detailed scenario and "what-if" analyses to evaluate project alternatives, identify critical path activities, and support project decision-making.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, consultants, contractors, and project team members, to gather information required for effective schedule development and critical path management.




- Represent the department by providing scheduling expertise, project coordination, and support for internal and external project activities.
- Prepare and distribute schedules, progress reports, forecasts, updates, and other project control documentation required to support project execution and completion.
- Monitor schedule integrity, identify potential delays or deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to junior and intermediate planners and schedulers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to project controls, scheduling processes, and reporting methodologies.

Scope:

- The impact of this role is generally focused on assigned projects and work units, with opportunities to support broader project initiatives.
- Interacts with internal and external stakeholders and may do so under the guidance of senior project controls leadership when required.
- Exercises sound judgment and provides recommendations that are reviewed for accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
- Provides mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate scheduling and planning personnel.

Working Conditions:

- Primarily office-based environment.
- Occasional travel to project sites and field locations is required.
- Overnight travel may be required to support business activities or construction projects.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when visiting field sites.
- Expected to produce accurate schedules, project reports, and performance data within established timelines and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

Required

- Technical diploma or university degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project scheduling, planning, or project controls, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
- Experience supporting large-scale oil and gas construction projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a rapid-paced, dynamic project environment.
- Strong analytical,



organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage a variety of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing project schedules throughout the full project lifecycle, from project initiation and planning through execution, closeout, and post-project follow-up activities.
- Experience working within regulated project environments, including the ability to understand and incorporate regulatory requirements into project planning and scheduling processes.
- Proven experience integrating individual project schedules into master or portfolio-level schedules to support overall program planning, reporting, and execution.

Preferred

- Experience with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements, processes, and project oversight.
- Experience using EcoSys project controls software.
- Offshore oil and gas project experience.
- Advanced knowledge of project controls methodologies, including schedule performance measurement, critical path analysis, resource planning, and earned value management.
- Experience supporting multiple concurrent projects within a large, complex capital project environment.
- Previous experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior and intermediate planners and schedulers.
