Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program seeks a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to enhance mental health services in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Focus on telepsychiatry and pediatric consultation.
This full time role will play a key part in the development of CICAPP's new initiatives and provide vital consultation at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Responsibilities include leading the Mental Health Day Program, consulting for early psychosis cases, and providing outreach to underserved regions. This position encourages academic engagement through teaching and research opportunities with Island Health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead telepsychiatry outreach to remote communities • Collaborate with pediatric services at NRGH • Develop and manage a Mental Health Day Program • Facilitate interventions in Early Psychosis cases • Work alongside fellow Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists
Requirements: • Licensed Psychiatrist in British Columbia • Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry • Proficient in telemedicine practices • Passion for teaching upcoming medical professionals • Willingness to engage in community mental health initiatives
