In this two-year contract role, you will collaborate closely with curators and the Manager of Provenance Studies. You'll conduct original research on Ancient Greece and Rome collections, ensuring the accuracy of historical data and making it accessible to both the public and internal audiences. Your specialized knowledge will lend insights that shape responsible stewardship and transparency at ROM.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct original research on Ancient Greece and Rome artifacts • Document ownership and transfer histories using relevant sources • Prepare provenance histories for museum systems • Translate findings into public-facing content • Collaborate on enhancing documentation practices
Requirements: • Advanced degree in Classical Studies or related field • Minimum three years working with collections management systems • Solid archival research and communication skills • Reading proficiency in German is preferred • Understanding of ethical collections practices
