The Town of Conception Bay South invites applications for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator in the Engineering and Public Works Department.

UNIONIZED POSITION Temporary Full time DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This position reports directly to the Public Works Supervisors and will perform related work as per the job description.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate of a recognized educational program accredited by the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for equipment operation.

Must possess a minimum of Class 3 with a Class 8 and current Class 9 Air Brake endorsement

Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the operation of heavy equipment is required

Any combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS: Equipment includes those specifically equipped to carry out the business of the Town, including rubber tire backhoe,



tandem and single axle trucks equipped with or without plow and wing; loader with or without plow and wing; and equipment used for curbside recycling; and be willing to be trained to operate other equipment that may be required, or available, in the Department.

Applications must include a copy of official educational documents confirming education requirements and references. The successful applicant must provide an acceptable Certificate of Conduct and Driver's Abstract prior to commencement.
