Position Summary
Lancor Concrete Contractors Ltd. is seeking an experienced Tower Crane Technician to join our growing crane operations team. Reporting to the General Superintendent and Asset Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of tower crane electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring secure and reliable equipment operation across active construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on tower crane electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical system.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, motor controls, PLCs, and wiring systems on crane equipment.
Assist with the erection, climbing, and dismantling of tower cranes.
Conduct routine inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable safety regulations.
Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair records.
Coordinate with site supervisors and crane operators to minimize equipment downtime.
Ensure all work complies with OH&S; regulations, CSA standards, and company safety policies.
Respond to on-call service requests as required across project sites.
Report on equipment condition and asset status to the General Superintendent and Asset Manager.
Qualifications
Certified Electrical Millwright or equivalent trade certification required.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience with tower crane systems or heavy industrial/construction equipment maintenance.
Robust knowledge of electrical schematics, motor control systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with hydraulic and mechanical systems an asset.
Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel to job sites across Atlantic Canada.
WHMIS 2015 and Fall Protection certificate required.
Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under time-sensitive conditions.
Excellent communication skills and commitment to workplace safety.
Working Conditions
Field-based role requiring travel between active construction sites.
Physical demands include working at heights, lifting, and exposure to outdoor conditions.
On-call availability may be required.
