Role Overview
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) will support the delivery of pediatric OT services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. This role involves implementing treatment plans, supporting fine‑motor, sensory, and functional skill development, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Implement OT treatment plans as directed by the supervising OT
Support children in developing fine‑motor, sensory‑motor, self‑regulation, and functional life skills
Prepare therapy materials, activities, and session setups
Document session notes and progress according to clinic standards
Communicate effectively with the supervising OT, families, and clinic staff
Maintain a safe, organized, and child‑friendly therapy environment
Participate in team meetings,
training, and case discussions as required
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Experience working with children, neurodiverse populations, or sensory‑based interventions is an asset
Solid communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Ability to follow clinical direction and adapt activities to client needs
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Transparent criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
