Overview
We are seeking a skilled and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic health records systems. Prior experience in dental or medical office settings is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle inquiries
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix
Verify insurance information, process payments, and handle billing procedures
Assist with check-in/check-out processes and update patient information as needed
Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize the daily workflow
Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary forms and materials
Communicate effectively with clinical staff to facilitate patient care and treatment plans
Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and correspondence
Qualifications
Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred
Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable
Solid knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare
Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, skilled demeanor
Office experience including front desk responsibilities and administrative support is advantageous
Familiarity with medical office procedures and insurance processing is a plus
