Prep Cook - Child Care Facility

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a prep cook at our child care facility. This dual role is essential to providing a protected, clean, and nourishing setting for the children in our care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing healthy meals for young children and maintaining a hygienic and orderly facility. They will work along side the cook to prepare, serve and clean up from meal time.

Cook Responsibilities:
Assisting in preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks for children of various ages, adhering to dietary restrictions and allergies.
Ensure all food preparation and storage follows strict health and safety guidelines.
Keep the kitchen area clean, organized, and sanitized at all times.
Collaborate with staff on menu planning and nutritional education.

Qualifications:
Proven experience in food preparation, preferably in a child care setting.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices




Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A valid criminal record check and vulnerable sector check will be required upon hiring.
First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
