Backtrack Railway Services Ltd has been serving the rail industry for over 25 years.

Backtrack offers sales, service, and parts for a wide range of hand and power tools used in the rail industry. With five locations across Canada, we are a leader in the power tool and industrial supply sector.

We are seeking a skilled and dependable qualified to join our team at our Winnipeg location.

Position: Small Equipment Mechanic | Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

· Perform repairs and maintenance to a variety of small power tools

· Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical and mechanical problems

· Order appropriate parts and supplies to expedite the repair process

· Complete and create work orders in a computer-based system

· Assist with counter sales and customer support in a retail workplace

· Assist in housekeeping duties in the office and shop when required

· Assist with shipping and receiving materials when required

· Occasional work at customer sites may be required

· Training will be provided for the successful candidate as needed

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:





· Minimum two years’ experience as a small engine mechanic, or equivalent mechanical-related position

· Experience with gasoline 2-cycle, 4-cycle, and diesel engines

· Experience with Stihl and Husqvarna equipment

· Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical circuits

· Class 5 driver’s license, reliable transportation

· Valuable oral and written communication skills

· Experience with computer-based work order systems

· Must be a team player, have a positive attitude, willing to learn

· Physically able to lift more than 50 lbs

· Railway maintenance experience would be an asset
