The Physical Therapist I (PT) is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The PT assesses physical status of clients, participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care. The PT is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Qualified/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:





Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Robust problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated analytical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient education skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within interprofessional teams. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to assess, implement, and evaluate patient-centered treatment plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in community-based care and/or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Experience facilitating group programming. Background in respiratory care, including the management of chronic obstructive and restrictive lung diseases. Experience delivering group and individual education on disease management, energy conservation, and breathing retraining techniques. AADL Authorizer designation.
