Join Algoma University as the Employee Relations Lead, where you will champion labour relations and HR at this renowned institution. This role is based in either Brampton or Sault Ste. Marie and plays a key part in maintaining a positive workplace culture.
In this temporary, full time position, you’ll manage sensitive employee issues and support the People & Culture department’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Your focus will be on relationship building and enhancing the working workplace while adhering to confidentiality and integrity in your decisions. Your analytical skills will help inform management about crucial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and interpret collective agreements and policies
• Foster relationships with unionized and administrative groups
• Manage grievances,



appeals, and investigations
• Compile data for departmental planning and reporting
• Facilitate training on collective agreements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
• Five years of experience in a unionized labour relations role
• Extensive knowledge of employment legislation
• Solid critical thinking and conflict management skills
• Experience with Indigenous ways of knowing preferred
