hands-on Field Technician Wireline Operator based in Central Alberta
to support equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting both in our shop and at client sites. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys
working with their hands, solving technical problems, and being out in the field.
The Field Technician plays an essential role in daily operations by assisting with equipment deployment, troubleshooting, data collection, and preventive maintenance all while following established safety and operational standards. The candidate works out of our Olds shop while going on client's sites in North America. What You Will Do Install, maintain, and remove field equipment at client sites Assist with troubleshooting hardware, sensors,
and communication systems Perform routine maintenance and repairs Help prepare and test equipment in the Olds shop Follow procedures for data collection and documentation Support internal teams and external partners with technical issues Drive our wireline trucks Follow all safety policies in shop and field environments What We Are Looking For We are prioritizing practical skills and attitude over formal education. Must-Haves Based in or near Olds (or willing to relocate immediately) Class 3 or 1 Driver's Licence Strong mechanical or technical aptitude Ability to travel within North America(US and Canada) Comfortable working outdoors and traveling to job sites Basic computer skills and ability to learn recent systems Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn Nice-to-Have (Not Required) Wireline Experience is an asset Experience with electronics or electrical systems Networking (Ethernet, communications equipment) Solar (photovoltaic) or power systems Experience in field work, construction, oil & gas, or similar environments
