We are seeking a bilingual candidate for this role with fluency in English and French, written and spoken. Reporting to the Director, Employee & Community Giving Canada, the Relationship Manager, Employee & Community Giving manages internal and external partnerships aligned to community focused campaigns, partnerships and corporately‑led giving activities. This role supports BMO’s strategic priority to help build stronger communities with alignment to our Purpose: to boldly grow the good in business and life. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of and experience with world‑class employee and community giving programs, including corporate philanthropy, nonprofit partnership development and relationship management, volunteerism, impact measurement, workplace campaigns and signature initiatives. The candidate will have a working knowledge of the employee and community giving trends and the networks that support and grow this field of practice. The candidate will be collaborative, understanding, and sensitive to the different needs of stakeholder groups that make up a community. The candidate will ensure BMO’s brand is communicated in a way that reflects company values and corporate responsibility. Mandate & Core Accountabilities Develops, promotes, maintains & manages designated corporate/employee program(s), performing periodic reviews, analyzing program outcomes, providing insights and making recommendations for enhancements/changes as required. Ensures the effective & efficient execution of all program components, including ensuring change management & communications are in place for any enhancements/changes and mitigating any risk. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group. Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives. Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business. Assists in the development of strategic plans. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision‑making. Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy. Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Ensures alignment between stakeholders. Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives. Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels. Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
Supports the development of the program strategy ensuring that key goals are delivered and are aligned to overall BMO goals. Supports the management of the corporate / employee program, including developing program components, promoting the program and ensuring the execution of all program components. Designs measurable sustainment strategies including assessing and recommending mitigations for industry/ segment‑specific risks and prioritizing opportunities presented by internal and external stakeholders. Investigates, analyzes, documents & mitigates program risks and advises any issues or concerns to senior leaders. Understands the purpose of the program and ensures that stakeholder needs are understood and integrated into the development & management of the program. Analyzes the impact and effectiveness of the program through periodic reviews of the programs and makes recommendations to improve processes, procedures and/or policy Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide program insights and recommendations. Monitors and tracks program performance, and addresses any issues. Designs and produces regular and ad‑hoc reports, and dashboards. Manages the change management for any enhancements / changes and ensures that appropriate plans are in place to execute effectively. Tracks exception requests and corresponding approvals. Participates in the management of vendor relationships; ensures regular reviews are in place, key performance indicators are monitored, service level agreements are met and service costs are kept within budget. Oversees project activities o ensure deadlines are met and program solutions are delivered as scheduled. Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core program processes. Participates in assigned strategic initiatives impacting the overall program, providing insight and analytical support. Continuously monitor industry developments and continuously update. Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise‑wide focus. Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support. Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Works independently and regularly handles non‑routine situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
